A new event will take place on April 9, 2026, when two primary school classes will visit the Politecnico di Milano historic Campus Leonardo.
The pupils, from the “Bruno Munari” State Comprehensive Institute of Milan, will be welcomed in the Aula Donatori by the staff from the Supplies & Facility Management Division (AGIS) to explore together the topic of separate waste collection. This will be followed, in collaboration with faculty members from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DICA), by interactive games and experiments designed to reveal some of the secrets and properties of water.
The morning will continue with a guided tour of the Leonardo Campus, allowing students to directly observe existing or newly implemented facilities and infrastructures (such as drinking fountains, recycling bins, bicycle stations, and more).
The event, organized by the University’s Environmental Sustainability Unit (AGIS), is part of the project \”Sustainable Architecture School for Children” – conceived by Linda Poletti, with scientific supervision by Ilaria Oberti (Department ABC) – promoted by Centro Studi Circolo Caldara, with the support of Fondazione Comunità Milano and Fondazione AEM – Gruppo A2A.
The aim of the project is to introduce children to the world of sustainable architecture through hands-on activities, interactive games, and short campus explorations, helping them understand how every daily choice – even the smallest one – can have an impact on individual well-being and, more broadly, on the community.
