Last December marked the end of the first phase of the “Bike to Uni” challenge – an initiative developed within the framework of the PNRR MOST – National Center for the Sustainable Mobility – promoted by Politecnico di Milanoand Università degli Studi di Bergamo (lead partner), in collaboration with Wecity.
The joint PoliMI-UniBG challenge, designed to promote active mobility among members of the academic community, took place from 12 November to 19 December, 2025, and recorded a total of 152 participants, including 101 active users, who traveled a total of 15.421 km.
Participants were required to record their home-to-university and vice versa trips, by bicycle or scooter, using the Wecity app.
From Politecnico 68 participants actively took part in the challenge, mostly staff members, traveling a total of 11,526.96 km.
The active participants for the Università di Bergamo were 33, mostly staff members, traveling a total of 3,893.83 km.
The top 10 classified will be rewarded with a foldable bicycle helmet.
Those ranked between 11th and 25th place will receive a pair of shoe covers.
From the 26th place onwards will be rewarded with a set of bicycle lights.
Little incentives to promote cyclists’ safety.

The award ceremony will take place on 18 March at 2:30 p.m. at Università di Bergamo, Via dei Caniana 2, Sala Bertocchi (second floor).
